Editorial Policy
How we choose picks, stay independent, keep prices honest, and fix mistakes.
Independence
Our recommendations are editorial. We do not accept payment to feature or rank a product, and no brand has approval over what we write. When we earn a commission it is through standard affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure), and the commission a product pays never influences whether or how highly we recommend it. When a cheaper option is the better buy, we say so — even when the pricier one would earn us more.
How picks are chosen
Every pick is selected using the method on our How We Pick page: published specs, the consensus of real owner reviews, live prices, and honest value and giftability math. We do not physically test products and we never claim to. We include a product’s trade-offs alongside its strengths, and we’ll tell you when we’d skip one.
No fabricated ratings or reviews
We do not publish star ratings, review counts, or testimonials, because we don’t collect them and we don’t run tests that would justify them. Any editorial ranking you see is our opinion, argued in words, and never dressed up as a lab score or a customer rating.
Prices and accuracy
Prices are fetched live from the retailer and stamped with the date they were verified. Prices change constantly; if a number is stale or can’t be confirmed, the page shows “check price” instead of a figure that might mislead you. Product facts are read from the retailer listing on a dated visit and cited where relevant.
Updates and seasonality
Roundups are reviewed at least twice a year, and ahead of the two big grilling-gift peaks — Father’s Day (by mid-spring) and the winter holidays (by early autumn). Discontinued products are swapped out, and the “last updated” date on a page is bumped only when the content genuinely changes, not on every routine rebuild.
Corrections
We fix errors promptly. If you find a wrong price, a broken link, a discontinued product, or a factual mistake, please contact us. Material corrections are made as soon as we can verify them, and we’d rather hear about a problem than leave it live.
